About Haven Heating . . .
Haven Heating is a family owned business that has been installing and servicing residential and light commercial customers in southwest Michigan since 2006, but their roots in South Haven area goes back to 1994.
The owner of Haven Heating, Jack Heron was hired by a company that was known for their quality installations and service. After a few years the company was sold to an out of town competitor that wanted to open a branch in the area. Shortly afterward Jack and a partner started their own company. That company was eventually bought by an electric utility company that was diversifying. Because the electric company heavily promoted geothermal technology, they were able to hone their geothermal skills. When the utility company had to shed all of its subsidiaries the heating and cooling division was bought by a propane company. The propane company was bought out by a multi-national propane company and Jack was the manager of the South Haven, Mi. office. Although it was a good company to work for, their main focus was meeting the propane needs of their customers and not their heating and air conditioning needs.
After some time Jack wanted to get away from the large corporate mentality that focuses solely on the bottom line and less on the customer and their needs. He realized that to accomplish this he had to go back out on his own and started Haven Heating and Air Conditioning. Joining him, from the propane company, was Mark Miller, Mike Underwood and Bruce Weidler. Tasha Brewer (Jack's daughter) was hired in 2012 to replace her sister as Office Manager. Most of the crew has been working together as a team for years, through all the company changes before Haven Heating and Air Conditioning. Jack and the guys have been taking care of the same customers since 1994 regardless of the company name.
